The wait is over as Valve’s TI12 content will release next week

When is the 2023 Dota 2 Battle Pass potential release date
The 2023 Battle Pass release date seems to be in late August to early September. If Valve follows the same format as the 2022 Battle Pass, we might also see this year’s BP be separated into two parts.
As there are no announcements regarding the 2023 Battle Pass yet, we’ll have to speculate about its arrival.

In previous years, the Battle Pass was released in May, roughly three months before The International begins. However, the Battle Pass and TI schedule shifted since the “leap year” in 2020. TI was canceled due to the pandemic. The DPC schedule also suffered significant delay.
In 2022, Valve released the Battle Pass later in September and separated it into two parts. This caused the Battle Pass to have a longer active period. However, it was only available a month before TI11, which had potentially caused a plunge in the TI prize pool.

All Battle Pass release dates since 2018
As we can see, the Battle Pass pattern completely changed in 2021 - showing the aftermath of the pandemic. Last year, in 2022, Valve released the Battle Pass in two parts. The first part arrived on September 1, only 44 days before TI11 began.
Valve’sblog poston May 7 announced the location of TI12 which will be in Seattle, USA. The post also mentioned the start date of TI12, which is October 14.

If TI12 begins on October 14 and the Battle Pass arrives around 44 days prior, we can speculate that the 2023 Battle Pass drops on August 31 - July 08, 2025. This goes in line with the previous dates in 2022.
There was an apparent backlash to the previous format of dividing the Battle Pass into two parts. This might see a change in the format or we might see Valve pursue the 2-part BP once again. Stay tuned toEsports.gg for moreDota 2 news!
