Kevin Feige gives a new update on whether or not theMarvel Cinematic Universeis looking to bring in Miles Morales any time soon.Tom Holland’sSpider-Man: Brand New Daywill finally see Peter Parker back in the MCU after being absent since the conclusion of 2021’sSpider-Man: No Way Home.

However, another Spider-Man that fans have been wanting to see inthe MCU is Miles Morales, as the franchise has also already teased the impending debut of the beloved hero. From Miles' uncle, Aaron Davis, showing up inSpider-Man: Homecomingto his nephew being name-dropped in a deleted scene, the young web-crawler is clearly around in the MCU.

During a recent press roundtable event withThe Hollywood Reporterin attendance, Feige was asked if a live-action Miles Morales MCU movie may happen any time soon at Marvel Studios. However, Feige did not have the update fans may have been hoping for, as the Marvel Studios president shared the following:

That is nowhere… Sony has their brilliant, genius, incredible Spider-Verse animated franchise going and until that finishes, we’ve been told to stay away.

Feige’s comments came shortly after it was announced by Sony thatSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’srelease date in 2027has been pushed back. TheSpider-Versethreequel, which is being directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, is currently in production.

What Kevin Feige’s Spider-Man Comments Mean For The MCU

While many fans are bound to be let down by Feige’s comments, it’s key to take into account thata live-action Miles Morales movieis already being considered by Sony. However, it’s always possible that once theSpider-Versetrilogy is complete,Sony will work with Marvel Studios on the Miles Morales live-action film together, especially if the former wants him to be part of the MCU.

Given that the MCU timeline is about to focus on Holland’s Spider-Man again, they may also want to get further into Peter’s next chapter before bringing Miles into the franchise. How this side of the franchise is approached may also be dependent on how long Holland will keep playing Spider-Man afterSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versehas finished the character’s animated arc.

Our Take On Kevin Feige’s MCU Comments

While Feige’s latest Miles Morales update may not be exactly what fans want to hear,he has previously made it clear that he would love to bring the web-crawler into the MCU, which seemingly makes this all about timing. With the foundation that already exists for Miles Morales in the MCU, his debut is already set up for when theSpider-Versetrilogy is complete.

Ideally, when Miles Morales shows up in the MCU, he will get to share the screen with Holland’s Spider-Man in one way or another. Hopefully, when Miles Morales finally gets his time in theMCU, the long wait will have been worth it.
