There’s no doubt thatTom Clancy’s The Divisionencountered an incredibly rocky start when it debuted back in March 2016, as the title suffered from a litany ofserver issuesthat initially dissuaded many from taking on the role of an Agent. Nevertheless, the game managed to experience a comeback of sorts over the weeks and months of its availability as the team at Ubisoft Massive continued to quell the action-RPG’s bugs, glitches, and lingering problems, which has now led to it having upwards of 20 million players.
This new figure was revealed by Ubisoft in celebration ofThe Division’s 2nd anniversary, with the publisher and developer planning a slew of online activities to commemorate the occasion and reward the title’s sizable fan base. To be more specific, from March 1 to March 29, there will be one global event per week, with these events adding modifiers to all activities in-game, and giving players the chance to earn gameplay rewards and cosmetic items.

Weekly global events won’t be the only way that Ubisoft is celebratingThe Division’s player base of 20 million users, as viewers of the official Twitch channel for the game will also be eligible for treats throughout the month. For those who spend more than half an hour watching online, in-game rewards will automatically be unlocked, but fans must ensure to link their Twitch and Ubisoft accounts in order to obtain them.
Taking all of this into account, it looks as if Ubisoft is set to continue supportingThe Divisionand its rather large fan base for as long as they want to play the two-year-old title, but that doesn’t mean the company doesn’t already have its sights set on a followup. About a couple of months ago, in fact, Massive Entertainment’s Managing Director David Polfeldtteased that a sequel’s already in the works.
Tom Clancy’s The Divisionis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
