Just recently, manyPokemon GOfans were awaiting Niantic’s decision to announce what the wildly popular augmented reality game’s featured pocket monster would be for next month’s Community Day, withmany speculating Larvitarwas on deck to get its due. Now, the developer has officially confirmed that fans' hypothesizing is correct, as the studio has declared the aforementioned Rock- and Ground-type to have the forthcoming event centered around it.
As seen in the tweet below from the officialPokemon GOTwitter account, the mobile title’s next Community Day is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 29, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM CDT, with Larvitar to be the focus. Niantic has also confirmed that June’s Community Day will provide bonuses such as triple the XP for any Pokemon caught during the event and 3-hour lures, much like it has done in the past with previous Community Day events.
The one aspect ofPokemon GO’s next Community Day event that Niantic did not reveal related to the exclusive move that players can learn for either Larvitar or its subsequent evolutions of both Pupitar and Tyranitar – the latter of which was the key to success for the first few months ofBattle Raids. It’s likely, though, that Tyranitar will be the one to receive a new Charge Move, with many would-be Trainers hoping for the creature to receive Smack Down.
All things considered, it’s safe to say that plenty ofPokemon GOfans will be content to hear that Larvitar is the focus of the next Community Day, as the creature is considered a rarity in most regions, withmany having hoped for the event to feature itin order to stock up on the Rock- and Ground-type. Plus, with fans currently dissatisfied with the distribution of both Latias and Ho-oh in-game, it’s good to see that Niantic is giving the fan base what it wants this time around.
