‘Really? You’re inviting us to be present in your big show?’

At Sony’s E3 press conference last year, independent developers behind titles likeDon’t Starve,Transistor, andOctodadwere given the opportunity to take the stage and announce their support for PlayStation 4. It was a special moment in a memorable show. That kind of thing just doesn’t happen. Such a spotlight is typically reserved for high profile studios and big blockbuster releases, not small teams of recent college graduates working on their first commercial ventures.

Some of the games shown that day have seen release. Others are still in the pipeline. Regardless, Sony got the band back together to discuss their experiences with the platform over the past twelve months. Their thoughts? Overwhelmingly positive.

But then again, Sony put the video together. So take it all with a grain of salt, if you’re the leery type.
