Out of all the new characters to be announced forGuilty Gear Striveat EVO 2024, I don’t think Lucy fromCyberpunk: Edgerunnerswas on anyone’s bingo card.
In a now private video, Arc System Works revealeda new three-versus-three mode, new stages, and four new characters including fan favorites Dizzy and Venom as well asUnika from the upcomingGuilty Gear Striveanime.But most surprising of all is a guest character: Lucy.
We here at Destructoid loveEdgerunners– it has a gripping story that expands theCyberpunkworld in whole new directions and just has some phenomenal characters. Lucy is an odd addition to the world ofGuilty Gear, but in the grand scheme of things it isn’t all that weird.
Guilty Gearhas similar themes and visuals to the world ofEdgerunners, with bombastic over-the-top artwork and individualist ideas. Both Arc System Works and Studio Trigger are known for their flashy action, so I think Lucy will fit well into the roster.
We won’t see Lucy playable until 2025, so we’ll have to wait a while until we get to see her in action and how she fits.
