100T vs PSG: Live score

With the uncompromisingly high stakes of this match, 100 Thieves and PSG Talon still had some space for a misstep and recovery. Two games were needed to win and advance to the Swiss Stage, as the format is best-of-three (Bo3). One loss applied great emotional damage, though.

Match recap: 100T vs PSG

PSG Talon were just better! 100 Thieves got into trouble super early in both games and simply couldn’t recover. The advantage of PSG Talon was almost tangible, and they won their spot in the Swiss Stage fairly.

100T are eliminated from Worlds 2024.

“One similarity between both of our losses is that when we started losing, we weren’t really able to bounce back that well. I mean, mentally. […] Four of five players are for the first time at Worlds, and I think it’s a good experience for them. Also, it’s the first time for me as a head coach at Worlds. So I think it’s a very positive experience for all of us.”

“Of course, we are really happy that we won today, and it will add a lot more confidence to our team.”

For PSG, the next match will be against G2 Esports — the team that eliminated them from MSI 2024.

Game 1

Game 1 fell apart for 100 Thieves around their Herald fight. The PSG players positioned themselves so well that they just eliminated the opponents with ease. That advantage snowballed quickly, and around 20 minutes, PSG were winning team fights one after another. The game was won by the Taiwanese team even before destroying the Nexus.

Game 2

For this game’s draft, 100T banned some of the champions that destroyed them before: Skarner, Gnar, and Jhin. That helped, but not in a way 100 Thieves had hoped. PSG Talon just weren’t as dominant, but they still got their advantage super early — around the second Voidgrubs fight. They grew somewhat slower, as 100T responded nicely in many moments. Still, the result became obvious pretty soon into Game 2, and 100 Thieves could not avoid this loss and elimination.

The high expectations for PSG Talon were based on their recent international success at MSI 2024. It was a lot of pressure, but now, that result is cemented at the LoL Worlds 2024 event, and this will give the players a lot of confidence in their future careers. In a way, that’s worth even more than qualifying for the Swiss Stage.
