Although the photo has been public for nearly a year, on Monday, Getty Images announced the picture had been manipulated.
“Getty Images has reviewed the image in question and placed an editor’s note on it, stating that the image has been digitally enhanced at source,” a Getty spokesperson toldThe Telegraph.
The Princess of Wales, 42, snapped the picture during a family trip to Balmoral the summer prior.
Seen seated with the Queen, who sat in the middle of a green sofa, are William and Kate’s kids — sonPrince George, 10, daughterPrincess Charlotte, 8, and sonPrince Louis, 5 — with their royal cousins.
The outlet pinpointed and zoomed in on six different discrepancies.

Monday’s news comes just after photo experts foundat least 16 editing errorsin the Mother’s Day photo with Kate and her kids that she shared on social media to celebrate the holiday in the U.K. earlier this month.
Some of the noticeable mistakes found in the March 10 photo included Princess Charlotte’s hair being oddly cut off, indents and distortions and Princess Kate’s hair appearing to be airbrushed.

Kate latershared an apologyvia social media for the controversy the edited image caused.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day,” shewroteon X (formerly Twitter) on March 11.
Instagram also flagged the image, adding a warning that the post had been “altered” from its original version.

That same week, the Prince of Wales, 41, showed his support for his wife during an outing to celebrate theopening the new youth zoneWEST in Hammersmith, west London.
As William decorated a cookie, a voice off-camera complimented his design skills in a video shared to the BBC’sInstagramaccount.
“No, it’s really not impressive,” William replied. “My wife is the arty one. And my children are more arty than I am.”
