It isthe first DC Comics movie to pass that milestone in three years, after 2022’sThe Batman. What This Means For Superman

It Could Soar Even Higher

It is highlyunlikely thatSupermanwill be able to compete with the record-breaking blockbustersThe Dark KnightandThe Dark Knight Rises, which grossed $553.3 million and $448.1 million at the domestic box office respectively, making them the 19th and 31st highest-grossing movies of all time in North America.

However,Supermanis performing at a level thatcould continue to surpass other titles from the previous iteration of the DC franchise, the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Below, see a breakdown of the DC Elseworlds andDCEU moviesthat remain above the James Gunn movie and where they rank on the all-time domestic chart:

#44

$412.5 million

#64

$369.3 million

#82

$335.4 million

#83

$335.1 million

#88

$330.4 million

#91

$325.1 million

#112

Superman(2025)

$300 million

Ultimately, it remains to be seen how highSupermancan climb by the end of its run. However,Box Office Theoryprojects that it will earn an additional $17.4 million at the domestic box office by the end of its fourth weekend in theaters, which isa total that would push it within $8 million of outgrossingSuicide Squad.

Once it does so, the movie would only need to earn an additional $10.3 million to surpassJokerand become the third highest-grossing movie on the chart. While pushing past the $400 million milestone and outgrossingWonder Womanwould prove more difficult,a place in the Top 3 is entirely within the realm of possibility.
