It’s a key tool in Atomfall that can be complicated to learn.
Atomfall is home to several tools that your character can make use of to navigate the Quarantine Zone and its many strange occurrences. From the simple flashlight to a metal detector that can find buried treasure, you won’t just have to stick to your guns. One of the most useful tools in Atomfall is the Signal Redirector, which also happens to be the most complicated of your tool arsenal.

The Signal Redirector is required for several main story quests in Atomfall, so it’s imperative that you understand how to use it. Fortunately, we have a full guide on the tool and the best way to use it in the guide below.

Using the Signal Redirector in Atomfall
First and foremost, there are a few ways to get the Signal Redirector, but the most common way is by securing the Windfall Crate in a Skethemoor bunker called the Protocol Field Station. You can also acquire it in the Skethermoor Prison and even build it yourself by acquiring the plans for it at Brinsop Manor in Skethermoor. Basically, just go to Skethermoor and you’ll stumble across the tool eventually.
Once you have the Signal Redirector, you’ll be given a brief tutorial on how the tool works in Atomfall. However, this tutorial isn’t the greatest, as it fails to explain some key components of the tool. For a fuller explanation, read the steps below:

The key factor to remember with the Signal Redirector is you need to be close enough to the junction box you’re aiming at. If you’re not close enough, the tool won’t work.
You also need to understand how power works in Atomfall. The junction boxes power a large majority of doors and devices in the game, and diverting power from one box to the other is a puzzle that many quests use to halt your progress in an area. Learning how power gets transferred from a junction box is a crucial part of Atomfall that you’ll master with more time and practice.

You can pull out the Signal Redirector whenever its icon appears on your HUD. This lets you know a junction box is nearby and the tool can be used. However, it’s often difficult to find the junction box in question, so make sure you’re looking all up and down walls, ceilings, and even in the floor on some occasions.
