The beginning of the PS4 and Xbox One generation was flooded withremastered portsfor some of the most popular games on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Nowadays, times have changed and it’s remakes of classic games that are all the rage withCrash Team Racing,Resident Evil 2, andThe Legend of Zelda: Links Awakeningall receiving major facelifts in 2019 alone.

Following the E3 announcement that Forever Entertainment was working on modernremakes for the first twoPanzer Dragoongames, it’s now been confirmed that the publisher has also signed on to remake another popular Sega series, in the form ofTheHouse of the Dead.

The news was announced via  Forever Entertainment’s Twitter account, confirming that the publisher has started development on remakes for bothThe House of the DeadandThe House of the Dead 2.SEGA will still retain ownership of the IP forHouse of the Deadwith Forever Entertainment publishing the remakes from developer MegaPixel Studio.Unfortunately, as the agreement is still in the process of being signed, no information was revealed regarding which platforms the remakes would be coming to or a release window.

The House of the Deadis anon-rails arcade shooterthat spawned a number of sequels and spin-offs and played a significant role in popularising zombies video games during the mid-90s. Polish website had Graczpospolita initially reported on the remakes in the final week of September, claiming that the remakes “will have new graphics adapted to modern standards and slightly modified gameplay,” while remaining faithful to the original games.

While Forever Entertainment isn’t able to give any further information regarding the remakes, it’s safe to assume that both games will beavailable on Nintendo Switchgiven that thePanzer Dragoonremakes are exclusive to the platform. Whether or not they make it to all modern platforms including PC, PS4, Xbox One remains to be seen.

The House of the Dead1 and 2are currently being remade for unspecified platforms.
