Summary

Paramount+ has not ordered a third season of itsHaloTV series, but there may still be hope for the next season regardless. Most of the time, new installments in theHalofranchise are hits regardless of their medium, including the books, which fans have shown lots of love for in the past. Not every iteration ofHalois a winner, though. This has been the case with the controversial releases ofHalo 4and5, and concern appears to be growing thatHalois overextending itself.

It appears theHalofranchise has been in some turmoil lately. One of the biggest parts of the series' legacy is now gone afterthe closure of Axis Studios. Axis was a Scottish animation studio that worked on plenty of cinematics across theHaloseries, includingHalo Infinite’sopening cinematic. It also produced cutscenes within plenty ofDestiny 2’s expansions. There appear to be more losses around the corner forHalo.

Paramount+ is closing the curtain onHalo, but it does appear that there is a chance for survival here.TVLine reportsthat Amblin Television, Xbox, and 343 Industries have banded together to shop the TV series around. Although theHaloTV series has struggled to take off, its life may not be over yet. When it comes to TV shows getting shopped around, others have survived this kind of purgatory before. Most notably,Brooklyn Nine-Ninewas canceled by FOX and revived within the span of 30 hours. Similarly, FOX once canceledFamily Guy.

Halo Series Being Shopped Around

Furthermore, there’s more hope for theHalofranchise in general, with343 Industries addressing rumorsconcerning its involvement in the series' future releases. Some gamers have been speculating that the developer would be removed from theHalogames, which might be because the hype forHaloInfinitehas died down despite its live-service status. Franchises likeHalocould just need another release to pull attention back to them, though. This has consistently been the case for the games, and with some luck, may eventually be the case for the show as well.
