The first guest character is coming to Guilty Gear Strive, Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Evo 2025 highlights the state of the game before this arrival. Sure, it’s also a big Arc World Tour qualifier and just a spectacular tournament!
We are approaching the end of Season 4 in Guilty Gear Strive (GGST). The game already has more characters than any other instalment in the series, and Strive remains alive on the casual and top-most competitive levels.
Evo is always a great celebration of fighting games and the community in general. In 2025, GGST is part of the main lineup again. We can witness the amazing miracles on the big stage and get ourselves prepared for the Cyberpunk vibes coming to Strive.
The tournament itself is extremely important for the GGST esports professionals. It’s a Platinum+ qualifier for the Arc World Tour 2025. The winner advances directly to the finals event, and the top participants receive an increased amount of standing points.

Kshuewhatdamoo is the Guilty Gear Strive Evo 2025 Champion!
In the top 8 brackets, Kshuewhatdamoo had some seemingly easy matches and some disastrously difficult battles. He started with defeating Daru_I-No, the Evo Japan 2025 Champion. Then, Kshuewhatdamoo performed an impressive reverse sweep against Aboii.
The grand final started awfully for Kshuewhatdamoo. RedDitto reset the brackets with 0:3. Really strong mentality is needed to recover from that. And Kshuewhatdamoo did it! In the decisive match, he won with 3:0.
A great thing about this tournament is that everyone in the top 8 played different GGST characters. Kshuewhatdamoo won on one of the DLCs, Johnny. RedDitto made through the loser brackets with Ramlethal. Even Potemkin was here!
A great match to note is Verix versus tatuma. It was another reverse sweep at GGST Evo 2025. Verix was on the match point, and still tatuma completed his comeback.
Jack defeated Nitro, the Evo 2024 Guilty Gear Strive Champion, even in the top 24 brackets. He brought the match versus RedDitto to the last game but couldn’t advance further.
As the GGST Evo 2025 Champion, Kshuewhatdamoo earns a spot at AWT 2025-2026 Finals.
The Arc World Tour 2025 features quite a few other qualifiers that are planned after Evo Las Vegas. The next Platinum event is Ultimate Fighting Arena 2025, from Sept. 12 to Sept. 14.
