God of Waris easily one of the biggest PlayStation 4 games slated for release in 2018. Even though it’s expected to release within the next six months, though, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the game. Game director Cory Barlog has now revealed a lot more information about the newGod of Warby answering 102 rapid-fire questions.
Game Informer’s Joe Juba sat down with Barlog to ask him 102 questions. Barlog doesn’t answer all the questions seriously, and outright avoids answering others. However, he does reveal thatthe game will feature side quests, and that it will include unlockable costumes for players to earn over the course of their journey.
Check out the rapid-fire interview withGod of Wargame director Cory Barlog right here:
Besides revealing side quests and unlockable costumes, Barlog also touches on some other interesting points about the newGod of Wargame. For example, he refuses to answer a question about whether or not Kratos will have access to his Greek mythology weapons in the game, like the Blades of Athena. Barlog’s unwillingness to answer could mean that Kratos is completely leaving Greek mythology behind in the new game, but he also wouldn’t outright deny if the character Athena would be returning.
So even though the newGod of Warisclearly focused on Norse mythology, it seems as though there’s a possibility Kratos’s past will play a role in the new game. Speaking of Kratos’s past, Barlog also revealed that his son Atreus doesn’t know why Kratos has ash-white skin, and so it’s likely that Atreus is unaware of his father’s previous exploits of murdering Greek gods. Perhaps this revelation will come about over the course of the game’s story, and if so, it will be interesting to see how Atreus reacts to this news.
Of course, that’s just speculation at this time. Fans will have to wait until the game itself launches for more answers on how Kratos’s past may play a role inGod of War’s plot, and since Barlog refused to offer a solid release date in the interview, it’s anyone’s guess as to when that may be.
God of Warwill launch in Q1 2018, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
