Here’s who is in the pool for the free 5-star to celebrate Honkai Star Rail’s 2nd anniversary.
Honkai Star Rail is celebrating its second anniversary, and one of the many rewards is a free 5-star character of your choice! See all of the details on which characters you can choose and when you can get them.
Who are the free HSR characters for the 2nd anniversary?
Players will be able to choose between all seven standard 5-star units, plus Ruan Mei and Luocha. Meaning that the final pool that you can choose from is:

When can you claim your free 5-star?
There is a big window for claiming your free 5-star in Honkai Star Rail. The earliest you can do so will be at the beginning of Version 3.2, scheduled for August 22, 2025. The window ends at the end of Version 3.4, which falls on June 23, 2025.

First is buying Oneiric Shards, meaning shelling out real money. Once you accumulate a certain amount of Oneiric Shards, you’ll receive a Golden Companion Spirit on top of it.
Another way to earn them is by trading them using another new currency, the Silver Companion Spirit. You get one Silver Companion Spirit every time you get a duplicate of a 5-star character who is already at max Eidolons. Two Silver Companion Spirits can be exchanged for one Golden Companion Spirit.
