In a change from past years, teams performance in the non virtual Champions League will also potentially secure them a spot in the virtual version. The top eight clubs in the Champions League will be directly invited to the competition.

Those qualified for the eCL Group Stage will compete in a two day, round robin gauntlet. This will determine which competitors advance to the Knockout Stage.

The Knockout Stage will feature the top 24 competitors, who will compete across a two day single elimination tournament in London. Eight players will advance to the live eChampions League Finals.
