Knocking down prices like a Wrecking Ball
Overwatchon PC just got a little more affordable for anyone who wants to become a late adopter of Blizzard’s hero shooter (or for anyone who just wants an alt account).
Blizzard has cut the price ofOverwatchon PC by $20 for both editions. The standard edition — all the heroes but without all the bells and whistles — has been reduced to $20, down from $40. The legendary edition, which really just has a handful more character skins, is now $40 instead of $60. For what it’s worth, the legendary edition also has crossover content forWorld of Warcraft,Diablo III,Heroes of the Storm,StarCraft II, andHeartstone.

This seemingly won’t affect the price of the console versions, at least not yet.The PS4 version is still listed at $60. However, the PC market is increasingly making these type of live service games free-to-play.Counter-Strike: Global Offensiveis one of the most recent examples. Slashing $20 off the price tag doesn’t make it free, but it makesOverwatcha bit more enticing to the holdouts.
