Below Deck Down Underseason 3’s Wihan Du Toit has been a problem throughout the season, and after the most recent episode,he’s become so unprofessional that I think the only way he’s managed to stay on the show is because he’s a producer plant. While Wihan was one of the new yachties introduced during the premiere ofBelow Deck Down Underseason 3, he’s become one of the most difficult cast members of the season. Wihan’s unprofessionalism has been unbelievable throughout the season and has only grown since the beginning of the charter, creating some major concerns.

While Wihan has been one of the least impressive members of theBelow Deck Down Underseason 3 cast, he’s not the only person who’s been disappointing in his role. As the Bosun of Katina’s crew, Wihan has been a difficult piece of the puzzle for the struggling exterior team. After there were issues on the interior with Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph’s first sous-chef, Anthony Bird, many were concerned that there would be more issues with the interior team, but things stretched out easily for their team while the exterior began to noticeably suffer.Wihan’s been a problem from the start.

Though I don’t think Below Deck Down Under wants to lose their drama, Wihan finally may have gone too far.

Wihan’s Been Unprofessional Over & Over Again

Wihan’s difficulties throughoutBelow Deck Down Underhaven’t been isolated to just one element of the series. Unfortunately, from the beginning of the season, Wihan was showing signs of being an issue for the entirety of the crew. Throughout the first stretch of episodes, it was clear that Wihan didn’t know how to lead despite having the resume to try and reassure Captain Jason Chambers that he had the skills necessary to do so.Wihan has been a difficult Bosun to watch, especially with so many Bosuns in theBelow Deckuniverse being so great at their difficult, taxing jobs.

WhileWihan has been in the industry for years, he hasn’t been able to find his footing as a leader onBelow Deck Down Under. In earlier episodes, Wihan clashed with Harry Van Vliet when it became clear he didn’t know how to give proper directions to his deck team. Harry, who’s been looking for genuine management, grew frustrated with Wihan, as did Johnny Arvanitis. Wihan’s issues on deck aren’t just about his lack of management, but about his relationships, too. WhenJohnny walked in on Wihan in bedwith Johnny’s boatmance, his temper flared as Wihan struggled to explain.

Producers May Keep Him Because They Love Drama

Wihan Could Be A Producer Plant

AlthoughBelow Deckhas been called out for its use of producer plants in the past, Wihan might bejust another in a long line of show-sanctioned dramatic castmembers. Wihan’s behavior has been difficult and dramatic from the beginning of the season, including his experiences with Chef Tzarina, who he led on before getting into another boatmance. While Wihan seemed interested enough in the chef, his time with Tzarina wasn’t something he wanted to pursue even though she was interested in him. Wihan’s penchant for dragging the drama along could be beneficial forBelow Deckproducers.

WhileWihan struggled to find his footingas a manager, he has been one of the more obvious sources of drama throughoutBelow Deck Down Underseason 3’s crew. As a point of drama, he could be a big part of production’s plan to keep the show entertaining. Though I don’t think Wihan is necessarily a confirmed plant, I do see the way it could fall into place that he’s not exactly innocent of stirring up drama to keep the story going.Wihan could easily be revealed to be a producer plant in the future, and I’d believe it.

Could Wihan Get Fired From The Series?

He May Wind Up Going Too Far

AsWihan has moved through the series, it’s clear that he’s struggling to keep himself afloat and has only been sticking around because he hasn’t done anything too offensive. While Captain Jason has heard complaints about Wihan throughout the season, his lack of managerial skills hasn’t been enough to get him genuinely fired. Despite the issues, however, it’s possible thatWihan’s latest drama could find him facing some serious consequences.

While Wihan seems to have had some sort of issue of mistaken identity moving through the most recent episode of the series, it’s possible that getting into Johnny’s bunk and not alerting Alesia Harris that he was, in fact, not her boatmance Johnny could be a major issue. Even if it was a mistake,Wihan could be facing some serious consequencesfor his actions, and could potentially even be fired from Katina. Though I don’t thinkBelow Deck Down Underwants to lose its drama, Wihan finally may have gone too far.
