A while back, I postedAmazon.com‘s topvideogame picks for 2008, based on sales and desire. Considering it was all Wii, and mostly garbage, such a list was an incredibly depressing reflection on American society. I expected the same from the retailer’s top DS games of 2008, but actually came away rather surprised.
Not only isProfessor Layton and the Curious VillageAmazon’s best DS game of last year, but obscurities likeThe World Ends With YouandN+have also made the list. In the email Amazon sent my way, it didn’t divulge any information onhowthese games were picked, but my hope is that it’s based on consumer interest like the last one. Here’s the top ten games of last year, according to Amazon:

I do believe I shall allow that list. Of course, it’s missing the excellentLock’s Quest, which was definitely one of the very best DS games I’ve ever played, but you can’t have everything.
Props to those that made a retailer’s list thatdidn’tmake want to shove my own eyeballs up my arse. For once.
