2XKO has the typical game modes you’d expect from a fighter, so dive in to learn the ropes, practice a bit, and battle your friends.
2XKO isn’t your traditional fighting game. It takes inspiration from the many “tag-team” fighters we’ve seen. That means it employs a 2v2 system, where you may control both fighters. So, with that type of unique approach, what kind of game modes are there in 2XKO?

The game might not be traditional in a sense, but its game modes certainly are. You’ll be more than familiar with the type of modes you can jump into.
Every game mode in 2XKO
The game is currently in its Alpha Lab state. This is just a test period, so expect things to change upon full release. Or even with another test if they choose to do one. That means more game modes could be added to 2XKO, and we’ll update you here if they are.
Casual
Casual is just what you think it is. This 2XKO game mode puts you in the cool arcade lobby system. Other players and their avatars walk around waiting for a spot to open up.

In there, you may watch others fight, sit at a cabinet or TV, or even interact with others to duo up oradd them as a friend. Just be ready once you take up a spot at a machine, because then it is time to fight.
Private
Private lobbies are available. You won’t go into the main arcade lobby you see in Casual mode, however. Instead, a much cozier and smaller lobby awaits you.

A code can be made by the host, or you’re able to just start the private match for it to auto-generate one. Send it to your friends and they can enter it to join, where you can train or straight up fight each other.

A certain amount of each action shown must be completed to move on. This is a good way to learn the controls if you end up switching from keyboard and mouse to a controller or gamepad, and vice versa.

Does 2XKO have a ranked game mode?
There’s no ranked queue or ladder just yet. As previously mentioned, the game is currently in an Alpha Lab testing period. That means the game modes in 2XKO are fairly limited right now. It is safe to assume a ranked mode will come upon full launch, however.
