I’ve got a neutral feeling about this
We’ve yet to seeHail, Caesar!star Alden Ehrenreich grace our movie screens as young Han Solo, but Luscasfilm (predictably) has a hold on him for the time being. PromotingSoloin an interview withEsquire, Ehrenreich let slip that he is on contract for three films as our favorite scoundrel with a heart of gold.
When asked about how many films he was signed on for, the actor replied:
“Three. … I don’t know if that’s officially, uh, public. But—yeah.”
Well buddy, if it wasn’t public before, it is now.
Keep in mind however, that this is pretty standard for large movie studios and big franchises likeStar Wars. Some cast members ofRogue Onehad multi-picture deals, but unless we get aRogue Twofeaturing whatever’s left of their vaporized remains, I don’t think we’ll be seeing them again. But hey, ifSolodefies all expectations and is a critical hit amongst critics and fans, we could get a Han Solo trilogy that we didn’t even know we wanted, seeing how they’remaking these movies until after we’re all dead.
